Madelyn and Ross’ Engagement Session at the Lorain County Regional Airport

When Madelyn and Ross said they wanted to do their engagement session with an airplane, I knew it was going to be an epic engagement session. It is not everyday that the groom has been flying planes since he was 12 years old. I love the fact that they picked a location that means so much to them.

Growing up, Madelyn and Ross went to the same school, but their love story didn’t begin until their sophomore year of high school when a mutual friend set them up. They have been together for seven years. On their first date they wen to see the movie Sherlock Holmes at Crocker Park and then they went to Five Guys for dinner.

So how did he propose?

They walked through Christmas lights and went through a tunnel, and at the end of the tunnel, he got down on one knee and popped the question!

I always ask my couples what they love about one another.

Here is Ross’ answer:

There’s a lot of things I love about Madelyn, both on the small “everyday” scale, and with her larger personality traits. Although this seems tiny, I love seeing Madelyn get super excited and “smiley” about seemingly everyday things. Seeing her react in a very energetic manner even to the smallest gesture makes me very happy and feel appreciated. By doing something as simple as getting her a coffee, she’d respond in a way that makes you think that you just made her year.

I also appreciate Madelyn’s ability to both support and motivate me during the not-so happy times of life. For example, during finals, I usually get very stressed out and develop a “tunnel vision”, where I unintentionally ignore everything that isn’t academic related. Instead of getting mad at me for not responding to her texts or calls, Madelyn tries to calm me down by getting me a coffee or dinner. She’s shown the patience of a saint and the compassion of Mother Teresa, which I am extremely grateful for.

Lastly, I love Madelyn’s ability to appreciate my hobbies. I know that it isn’t easy to excited about Calculus or technical engineering theories, but over the years, she’s come around to liking airplanes and flying. During high school, it was very difficult to convince her to go flying with me, but since then, Madelyn has gotten excited about going for a flight with me. I love her ability to appreciate things that make me happy.

What does Madelyn love about Ross?

I love that Ross loves me for me, and that I never have to be anyone else when I am with him. He is there when I need him to be, and is there for every happy and sad time. I love his dedication to everything and everyone he is around, he is the hardest worker I know. He helps me when I need it, and when I do not know I need it, and I appreciate his attentiveness to those times. He knows how I take my coffee and will re-watch movies with me multiple times with only a little irritation!

We cannot wait to celebrate with these two, their families, and their friends this December.
